All that mentioned above are general studies on advertising translation, but studies on cosmetic advertisement are few. Domestic studies on the translation of cosmetic advertisement are divided into two categories: 1. A contrastive study of bilingual cosmetic advertisement both in form and content. 2. An attempt to figure out, under the guide of theories, the optimal strategy to translate cosmetic advertisement. Though some scholars have tried to study the translation of cosmetic advertisement from the perspective of functional translation theory, they mainly focused on its brand names or instructions. Through analyzing the corpus, this paper reveals the rule of translation strategies in cosmetic advertisement, and elucidates the Chinese translation strategies of cosmetic advertisement with the combination of functional translation theory.
All of the above are general studies on advertisement translation. However, the translation of cosmetic advertisement is relatively rare. Domestic research on the translation of cosmetic advertisements can be divided into two categories: 1. A comparative study of Chinese and English cosmetic advertisements in terms of form and content. 2.  Attempts to analyze the optimal strategies for cosmetic advertisement translation guided by theories. Although some scholars have tried to study it from the perspective of functional translation theory, most of the research objects are brand names or instructions. Based on the analysis of the corpus, this paper points out the regularity of translation strategies of cosmetic advertisement language, and elaborates the translation strategies of cosmetic advertisement language in Chinese with the help of functional translation theory.
That's the overall research of advertising translation above., but it is relatively few about specific translation of cosmetic advertising slogan. There are mainly two categories of researches on cosmetic advertising slogans domestically: 1. comparison research of Chinese-English cosmetic advertising slogans from the form and content. 2. attempt to analyze the most optimum stategy of cosmetic advertising slogan translation based on the theory. Although some scholars try to focus on the study from the functional translation theory, but they mainly target at the cosmetic brand names and the instructions. This thesis points out the law of cosmetic advertising slogans' translation stategy by analyzing corpus and illustrates the Chinese translation strategy of cosmetic advertising slogan by combining functional translation theory.
